It was commendations galore for Olori Elizabeth Oludaisi Raji, the senior wife of the Eweye of Isiwu, His RoyaL Majesty, Oba David Balogun Raji, as she celebrated her birthday and retirement ceremony.

At the ceremony held at the Eweye palace in Isiwu, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, on Friday, February 10, 2023, were Oba David Raji, children, family members, traditional chiefs, her former colleagues and others.

Olori Raji, who retired from teaching service meritoriously after many years of active engagement, was spoken about glowingly by her former colleagues at the Salvation Army Primary School, Ikorodu.

Mrs Elizabeth Dawodu, a teacher at the Salvation Army Primary School, Ikorodu, described the celebrant as a patient woman

“If I am asked to talk about her, I might not be able to say it all because I am proud of her. I always say that after my mother, the Queen is next”, she said.

“Anytime my husband offends me, I always tell myself that I want to be patient like Olori, and I won’t talk and that is because I have copied her.

“The child that I am nursing now, I will continue to say that after God, it is the queen that allowed the baby to be alive because I have stopped giving birth, and the pregnancy came after 13 years. During the naming ceremony when she came and I was telling people that she’s the wife of the King of Isiwu, they did not believe me. In fact, she is very humble and she doesn’t like problems at all”, Mrs Dawodu said.

“I will miss her so much because she is a good person and she is someone you can look at and say you want to emulate. I thank God that during the period that we were together, I learnt some positive things from you”, she added.

Another colleague, Mrs Abolarin, described the retiree as an angel sent by God.

“Olori is a cool and kindhearted person. She is always patient. One of our colleagues will say that she doesn’t talk and always accepts everything, but that her attitude is because she is much more experienced than all of us.

“Anytime we discuss family issues with her, she will tell us that we should always be patient if we want to continue to stay in our husband’s house.

“God has used Olori as an angel in the life of some people…..”, she said.

The speaker also lauded Olori Raji’s advice and added that she is also accommodating.

“Olori is one person that always advises people and always ready to share her food with others. She will offer the food in such a way that will make one feel like eating it even if you don’t want to before.

“She’s also accommodating and free with everyone. I don’t know Olori’s house, but on the day of my daughter’s wedding, she came early and you won’t believe that she is a wife of a King.

“You will continue to excel. You will not fall and whatever you do, you will continue to prosper. You won’t lose any of your children and your retirement won’t lead to death”, she prayed.
