Igbogbo Students’ Union Kicks – Off Week With Visit To Orphanage Home

The Igbogbo Students’ Union (ISU) 2022 Annual Week kicked- off on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 with a Welfare/ Education outreach to Hikanos Orphanage along Ipakodo/Igbogbo Road, Igbogbo.

This year’s celebration makes it the 67th editions of the ISU Week.

Members of the Union donated food items, beverage and educational materials to the Home.

Hikanos Orphanage which was founded 13 years ago by Late Mrs. Funmi Ajimo Williams has become a place where children without parents seek refuge.

Comr. Ewulogbo Temiloluwa, President, ISU, led the team that also have other executives and officers of the Students’ Representatives Counci (SRC) like Comr. Kuti Fiyinfoluwa ( Director of Welfare ), Comr. Tijani Abdusalam ( Director of Studies ,) Rt Hon. Kolejo Fathia ( Speaker ) Hon. Adesaogun Hassan ( Deputy Speaker ) and other members From the Students Representative Council, in attendance.

 Also part of the delegation is the Chairman of the Annual Week committee Comr. Adebola Adeumosu and other members and stakeholders of the Union.

According to Ewulogbo, the visit to the orphanage is the Union’s way of identifying with children that are in need.

“This act/ gesture of empathy from the Union is to further show it’s inclusiveness to student’s from different levels and background of the community and to commemorate the Annual Week 2022 kickoff”

The celebration continues today with quiz competition among schools,  while there will be Environmental Sanitation and Career Counseling on Thursday.

Special Jumat Service is slated for Friday at the Ansar – Ud – Central Mosque, Igbogbo, while the Sports Festival scheduled for Saturday, December 17.

The grand finale of the ISU Annual Week is slated for Sunday, December 18, at the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Secretariat Multipurpose Hall, Igbogbo.

On Sunday, December 25, members of the Union are also expected to gathered at the United African Methodist Church (Eleja), Igbogbo for the special thanksgiving service.
