2023: Erunwen Community Assure Rep. Benson, APC Candidates Of Support

-As Lawmaker flags off 3.3km road

Party leaders and residents of the Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Saturday, December 3, 2022, pledged their total support for the re – election of Rep. Babajimi Benson as the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

They also pledged to give maximum votes in the coming elections to the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, Lagos East Senatorial candidate, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru and the Ikorodu Constituency I candidate, Mr Gbolahan Ogunleye.

They made the pledged at the flag – off of the 3.3kilometre Erunwen Road facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson.

The road project, according to the lawmaker, is expected to be completed in four months.

In the last four years, the two – term lawmaker has facilitated 32 Roads all over the Ikorodu federal constituency.

Rep. Benson, who suspended the flag – off of the road and publicly announced that the fund for the project would be used for the construction of a stadium in Ikorodu North LCDA, due to attitudes of the community, later changed his mind and performed the flag – off ceremony after several appeals.

He charged the community to be alive to their civic responsibilities and always appreciate developmental efforts.

“As a community, you must know how to appreciate developmental efforts. When this road is completed, your house value would increase. If it worthy N4milion now, it will increase to about N50milion.

“This is a 3.3kilometre road, it is not a small road. It is one of the biggest road that we have done and almost twice the size of roads that we built at Agbala”.

Rep. Benson said that he came to flag – off the road in fulfillment of his promise to the people.

He charged Erunwen residents to give maximum support and cooperation to the contractor for the project to be completed within the schedule time.

Builder Adeola Banjo and Builder Sesan Daini, Chairmen, Ikorodu North and Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDAs respectively, while appreciating the federal lawmaker for always speak his mind, also appealed to him to reconsider his stance.

They also charged families, CDAs and residents to change their attitudes towards community development and ensure that they are a voting community.

Also speaking, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Divisional APC Chairman, charged residents of the area to reciprocate the gesture of the lawmaker by voting en masse for him and other candidates of the ruling party.

“The only way you can reciprocate this great gesture by our representative is to come out en masse and vote to return him to continue to represent us and also vote for the APC Presidential, Governorship, Senatorial and Assembly candidates”, he said.

“If we have to double our gains, we must double our votes”, he charged.

The Chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC), Ikorodu North LCDA, speaking earlier, stated that residents of the Erunwen community don’t vote during election and charged them to change their attitudes.

He assured Rep. Benson of maximum support for his re-election and other candidates of his party in the coming elections, throughout the council.

Also, family heads and community leaders at the flag – off who pleaded with Rep. Benson on behalf of the Erunwen community, pledged total support for him and other APC candidates.

Many of the residents that spoke with THE commended Rep. Benson for reconsidering his stance.
