Amb. Jadesola Otubanjo, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Otjore Ventures, has partnered the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), to empower 10 female residents with grinding machines to assist them in earning a living and assisting their families.

The grinding machines were presented to the lucky beneficiaries during the Food Festival Day of the just concluded Ikorodu – Oga Day Carnival, held at the Arch. Olutusen Onafowokan Auditorium, Ikorodu Ultra – Modern Town Hall, Ikorodu, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Otubanjo, a business woman and a philanthropist based in Ikorodu, was honored with the ambassadorial award by the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS) last year.

Last December, she equally gave out food stuff to over 100 families through IKODASS.

Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), commended the donor for her support for the socio – cultural and developmental group and the people of Ikorodu.

He said that Mrs Otubanjo, through her business, has been discharging her Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) to her host community and charged others to emulate her.

Erogbogbo also charged beneficiaries to make good use of the machines and use it to uplift themselves and families.

Donated grinding machines.

The beneficiaries of the empowerment, who cut across the three councils in Ikorodu Division, are: Mrs Mojisola Shobowale (Sabo market), Mrs Shola Alawofin (Awofin oja Ajina), Jumoke Saheed (Obun – Ale Market), Mrs Adeyeri Oluwatoyin (Ambala), Mrs Kudirat Ojikutu (Eyita Ikorodu), Kafayat Adeshina (Ajina Market), Mrs Nkiruka Olufemi (Igbo Olomu Road), Mrs Kehinde Adenuga (Oreyo), Mrs Hannah Obikoya (Oseni igbogbo Ikorodu) and Mrs Bidemi Falade (Oba Fatola Street Cemetery).

Amb. Otubanjo, speaking, said that she was giving out because it is the right thing to do and to also support the beneficiaries.

“It is the right thing to do if you are able or God has given you the capacity to help your sisters or brothers. It is mandatory to be your brother’s keeper. At least, it will make people happy, whatever it is that you are giving today, will be beneficial to the beneficiaries and enable them feed their families. I think it is the right thing for any person to do”, she said.

While still appreciating the ambassadorial award bestowed on him by IKODASS, she assured that she will continue to give her best and also called on other ambassadors to come on board.

“The ambassadorial award came to me as a shock. You know that in Ikorodu, you don’t know those that are watching you and it’s a privilege for me to say that I am very happy to be associated with IKODASS and the Ikorodu community as a whole. I want to appeal to my fellow Ambassadors to come on board. There is so much to do”, she said.

“I see IKODASS going places because Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, who Kabiyesi addressed as Chief Rotimi Erogbogbo, has set the pace so high. He has set a memorable standard at the Royal Banquet and also set in motion a lot of things. Today, we witnessed other tribes participating in Ikorodo-Oga Day. I see IKODASS bringing up more innovations and going higher”.

While appreciating IKODASS for the honour and opportunities given her, Mrs Otubanjo also charged beneficiaries to make good use of the grinding machines.

“I want the beneficiaries to use it very well in taking good care of their families and if God bless them more, they should also give back”, she said.
