The First Permanent Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas & Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, has, again, reiterated his stance that the successor of Governor of the State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, must come from Ikorodu Division.

Oba Shotobi, who stated that Ikorodu would support the incumbent Governor for re – election and as long as he is constitutionally permitted, emphasized that it must be the turn of Ikorodu, after him.

The royal father reiterated this position at the grand finale of the 2 – Day Empowerment Programme by Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, for his constituents, held at his Constituency Office in Ikorodu on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

“Let me sound a note of warning to all of us, all these that we are doing are just for appeasement, our major target is the Governorship of Lagos State”, Oba Shotobi said.

“We are going to support Sanwo – Olu for the second term and if permitted beyond that but after him, it is the turn of Ikorodu. I am in position to say it with my authority as the King.

“We are in need of Omo Orushen (an indigene of Ikorodu) to be at the helms of affairs in the state. He has been doing it now and we all can see it and he will still do more.

“While commending Rep. Benson, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, said that the lawmaker would deliver more if given a higher position.

“When the time comes, he will surely do more for us because he has been doing a lot even when we are yet to ask anything of him, so, there is no doubt that he would accede to our wishes if he gets to more a prominent position”.

“It is Ikorodu’s turn to be governor of Lagos State”, he emphasised.
