The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (Oba) Barr. Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, has urged members of different traditional groups in Igbogbo to be of good and exemplary conducts and desist from committing crimes.

The royal father, who is also the General Secretary, Ijebu Obas in Lagos State, said that many ritual killings and kidnapping have been traced to traditionalists and leaders of other religious organisations, adding that it is through good conducts that other residents will show interest and be willing to join them.

Oba Kasali gave the charge during this year’s Isese Day held at the Adeboruwa palace in Igbogbo on Saturday, August, 2022.

The Isese Day celebration was also observed at the Ayangbure palace in Ikorodu, Sekumade palace in Ipakodo with spectacular displays by different masquerades and groups.

He thanked traditional and cultural groups that gathered for the celebration this year.

“I welcome you all to this year’s Isese Day and thank you for trooping out for the celebration. We shall always have cause to celebrate good things in Igboigbo. I pray that we are all going to gathered again next year as we have gathered this year for the same celebration”, Oba Kasali said

“I also want to charge you all to be truthful with all that you are doing. You must be exemplary in your conducts because many things are happening that they are pointing to the traditionalists and other religious groups in respect of ritual killings and kidnapping that are happening in our society.

“We have seen cases where Babalawos, Alfas and Pastors have been accused and caught with money rituals and kidnappings and none of the scriptures or tenets of these religions ask us to be perpetrating these criminal acts”.

Oba Kasali also charged adherents of traditional religion on the need to follow processes as laid down by their ancestors.

“What we are doing is what we inherited from our fathers as they were using it to pray for prosperity and appease gods for good developments. It is now our turn to use it very well and show that we have good characters and are truthful about it, because it is through these that others will be willing to join us.

“This is my message from the government and Council of Obas. I congratulate you and wish you many more happy celebrations. I pray that all our prayers that we have offered for our community, council, division, state and the country as a whole shall be answered”, he prayed.
