The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu, has commissioned a Health Centre built by the Nasrul – Lahi – Faith (NASFAT) Society, Ikorodu branch.

According to the NASFAT branch Chairman, Alhaji Mikhail Oladapo Longe, the two – storey building medical facility was built towards the actualization of the policy trust of the National Executive Council of the society, which are Health, Education, Livelihood and Dawah.

The health centre was unveiled at a well – attended ceremony at the NASFAT Ikorodu secretariat where the facility was located, on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Also commissioned was a Ratibi Mosque located within the two – storey building, which was donated by the Publisher/Editor – in – Chief, Oriwu Sun newspaper and the Baroyin of Ikorodu Kingdom, Alhaji Monzor Kolawole OIowosago. The mosque was unveiled by the NASFAT National President, Mr Mumini Olaniyi Yusuf.

Meanwhile, the governor, after the commissioning and unveiling of the plaque, toured the facilities which included the outpatient, female ward, private ward, ante – natal, maternity, nurse station, pharmacy, store, laboratory and consulting room among others.

Gov. Sanwo – Olu, speaking at the event, thanked NASFAT for complimenting the efforts of the government in bringing developmental projects to the society.

He was represented by Imam (Prince) Mutairu Adam, Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic Affairs.

“I will like to congratulate NASFAT for this giant stride. I also like to appreciate you for this great contribution and equally, for registering your name among the league of organistaions that have chosen to support government and good governance. I pray that God will continue to strengthen your organization”, he said.

“In the last four hours that I have been here, I have listened to your requests and complaints and I will convey them to His Excellency”, lmam Adam assured.

“Government is always happy when cooperation and support like this comes from the people. We thank you greatly.

“We want to enjoin residents and organisations to emulate gesture like we are witnessing today from NASFAT and we as a government will not relent in bringing developments to our society.

“We want to thank NASFAT through its President for sticking profoundly with the principles of NASFAT as enumerated earlier”, he said.

In his royal remarks, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, also commended NASFAT on the health centre, adding that the organization has brought back humanitarian intervention.

“I commend those that initiated this project because it’s no longer common again. It was old societies that were doing things like this. I am really happy that since the formation of NASFAT, things have started changing for better.

“I thank NASFAT for elevating Islam and for being truthful to its principles”.

The royal father charged those in position of authority and individuals to always do good with their offices because there will always be a day of reckoning.

“On behalf of the entire royal fathers in the Division, I appreciate you because; the health centre would also cater for our own people. Though, I pray for good health for all of us but there is no way that we can do away with sickness. My prayer is that we will never encounter sickness that is beyond our power”.

The NASFAT Chief Misssioner, Sheikh Maruf Abd. Azeez Onike, speaking at the commissioning, said that NASFAT Ikorodu branch is an outstanding among others branches both in Nigeria and oversea.

“I have not seen a development like this since I have been touring NASFAT branches both home and abroad. There is no NASFAT branch that I have not been to. Is it Canada, United State, Sierra Leone, Cotedivore, Togo, Ghana and others, but Ikorodu is master”, the Missioner said.

His Eminence, Sheikh Ademoritan Olowo – Oribi, the Grand Chief Imam, Ikorodu Division, said that the reign of Sheikh Onike has brought about developments in NASFAT.

“This is a good contribution to the society by the NASFAT that God will reward you all for”, he said.

The Chief Imam, who said that sickness is among the eight things that every human being must experience, added that the health centre will not only accommodate members of NASFAT, but also the community at large.

NASFAT Ikorodu branch Chairman, Alhaji Mikhail Longe, in his address earlier, said that the health centre which is an addition to the Nursery and Primary Schools, bakery and vocational centre that the branch has been operating, is a further efforts at achieving the HELD Agenda of the national body.

“The initiative of this project is aimed towards the actualization of one of the policy thrust of the present National Executive Council led by our National President, on HELD Agenda (Health, Education, Livelihood and Dawah).

“We give thanks to Almighty Allah that Ikorodu Branch has being keying into the policy thrust. We are commissioning our health centre today to herald the adage that says: “Health is wealth”, and that we all know is an integral part of man’s life.

“More so, the Branch had been operating Nursery and Primary Schools (Education), a bakery (Empowerment) vocational training centre (Livelihood).

While appealing to the government to assist in equipping the clinic, NASFAT Chairman also said that the clinic will serve the entire community and reduce pressure on the government owned health facilities.

“The clinic will be of great service to humanity without any form of discrimination. Consequently, we appeal to the Lagos State Government and its agency to assist the society in ensuring that the Health Centre would be of world class standard equipped with modern facilities.

“The clinic will also relieve the government owned facilities of certain measures of pressure from the community and possibly, state at large. The clinic is sited in an accessible location, which makes it accessible to all and sundry. More so, observations have shown that there is none of this magnititude around our immediate environment.

“To this end sir, we look forward to your assistance and collaboration always as we proceed to curb the health challenges of our people in the best of ways we can”, he further pleaded.
