Wale Jagun
Asisat Oshoala, Super Falcon and Barcelona striker, has been named the 2022 CAF Women’s Player of the Year.
The 27-year-old was announced the winner at the gala held in Rabat, Morrocco, on Thursday.
Asisat made it her fifth CAF award beating Ajara Nchout Njoya (Cameroon and Inter Milan) and Grace Chanda (Zambia and BIIK Kazygurt).
With this, the Barcelona striker becomes the first African to win the award for a record five times to surpass the former Falcon striker, Perpetua Nkwocha.
Oshoala had in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019, emerged best African female football.
In the male category, Sadio Mane won the 2022 CAF Player of the Year Award.
