Young Idowu Hammed Odunayo, popularly known as‘Collabo’, aspiring for the Ikorodu Constituency II seat, Lagos State House of Assembly.

One of the two aspirants for the Ikorodu Constituency II Assembly seat, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Idowu Hammed Odunayo, popularly called, ‘Collabo’, has alleged that no primary election took place on Sunday (yesterday).

He said that there is no need for anyone to celebrate while warning those purportedly spreading results to desist from doing so and concentrate on participating in the primary election.

The party’s primary election for the Ikorodu Constituency II Assembly seat, which was scheduled to hold at the Admos Hotel, Imota, on Sunday, we gathered, failed to hold.

THE IMPACT also gathered that delegates and party members protested at the venue.

Idowu made his official position on the botched primary election known in a statement he personally signed and sent to THE IMPACT today (yesterday), which is reproduced below:

“The tortoise thinks the world doesn’t know what it has inside its shell, but we know – it’s the tortoise itself.

“To all the voters who came out today, I say thank you.

“A lot of you have spoken about the disappointment witnessed today, It does not, in any way, represent what our party stands for; from the annihilation of voters to the cajolement of candidates and the almost violence eruption at election ground.

“The good people and officials witnessed all of these, hence, I do not know where the celebration is coming from – a case where a country celebrates an Olympic medal without participating in the sport.

“For the record, no election happened today; everyone was in high spirit to vote, however, the State Electoral Officer wasn’t around to monitor election. My opposition and l had agreed for the election to go on but it was disrupted by those who despise progress, by those who have no respect for rule of law, by those who can be labelled as working for the opposition to ensure a continuous denigration of our great party – the PDP.

“They should, please, be warned to desist from spreading fake result and engaging in this fake lap of victory. We will not sit and watch them turn our great party into a collection of failures.

“We will use every legal means to have a re-run of this void election.

“Thank you to everyone as we look up to the responsible people  who are doing right before God and man.

“Think Collaboration, Think Progress!”.
