Aroyewun Gets Basorun’s Group Support For Assembly Ambition

Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun, aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly and Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Chiefatain of the GAC when the aspirant and his team visited Basorun Group on Friday.

It was a rousing home-coming when Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), a leading aspirant for the much-coveted Ikorodu Constituency II seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly, as he visited the Bashorun Group Support led by a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun.

The aspirant, a valuable member of the group was received by members of the political group during its meeting held at the residence of the chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) on Friday.

THE IMPACT gathered that the visit was in furtherance of the Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun for House of Assembly (HOA4HOA) team’s consultation towards the APC Primary Elections slated for May.

Some visibly excited female members of the Basorun group who could not contain their excitement and satisfaction for the aspirant passionately prayed for his emergence as candidate of the party and success in the General Elections.

According to them Aroyewun’s emergence as the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency II come 2023 would strengthen the group as well as Constituency II and its residents.

In his remarks, Aroyewun extolled the leadership qualities of Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, saying he is extremely grateful to have learned rudiments of politics from the old political war horse.

“Asiwaju Basorun is our father, leader and comforter; we are never regretful following him. May Baba Basorun continue to enjoy the great things of this world. I wish baba longer years on earth with sound health”, the aspirant said.

The aspirant who stated that he would deliver on his primary duty to the state and his constituency as a lawmaker, added that he will also give adequate representation to party members.

“Apart from my administrative intention which is solely for the development of our constituency, I am prepared to ensure that party women and generality of our party members enjoy the best of my welfare packages.

“This is because I know the invaluable commitment of party women, especially the aged ones in political activities. I will make you all proud”, he assured.

In his address, Chairman of the Group, Mr Leke Amokunmosa welcomed Aroyewun and his team to the group’s meeting and described him as an exceptional guest whose presence they have fervently waited to receive and listen.

On his part, Alh. Abdulahi (Bobomi), a leader of the Group also showered encomium on the aspirant.

He affirmed that Aroyewun was a true son of the land, of noble birth and properly raised.

He enjoined his supporters to eschew politics of bitterness and urged them to prepare thier party registration slip and Permanent Voters’ Card to vote overwhelmingly for him both at the primary election and the general elections, respectively.
