The Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr Toyin Gafaar Bolowtan, has lost his mother, Alhaja Awawu Abeje Gafaar, popularly called, ‘Iya Ijebu’.
According to a statement by the Sports DG on his Facebook page, she was 94 years old and she has since been buried according to the Islamic rites.
The statement reads, “With a heart filled with gratitude and a total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah, I on behalf of my family announce the death of my mother, Alhaja Awawu Abeje Gafaar (Iya Ijebu)”.
According to Mr Gafaar, “She was 94 years old. She has since been buried according to Islamic rites. Please join in praying for the repose of her soul.
