Encomiums, Praises As Remains Of Late APC Leader, Alhaji Anifowoshe Laid To Rest

It was encomiums and praises galore as the remains of the late leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and former House of Representative aspirant, Alhaji Abideen Olukayode Anifowoshe, was interred at his Ipakodo home yesterday, Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

Alhaji Anifowoshe gave up the ghost early hours of Wednesday. He was 82 year-old.

The late party leader, who was described as a forthright, disciplined and reliable political leader during his lifetime, did not only emerged as a revered political leader but he was deservedly compensated for his good standing and loyalty to the party through his sons who were given prominent political appointments in lkorodu West LCDA.

One of his sons, Mr Segun Anifoowshe was a former Sole Administrator of Ikorodu West LCDA while another, Mr Femi Anifowoshe, was sworn – in as the Secretary to the Council a few days back.

The Chief Imam, Ikorodu West LCDA, Alhaji Mushafau Aridegbe Kosoko, who led the Janazah (burial) prayer, described late Alhaji Anifowoshe as an upright politician and leader while charging others to emulate him.

“He was a steadfast and an upright man who always kept to his words. Those are the attributes that you are hearing from those talking about him”, Imam Kosoko said.

“Even the Alfa beside me told me that Alhaji was still being generous to him while on his sick bed each time he visited him and that he was always asking for prayers.

He also enjoined children of the late political leader to ensure that they continue with love and cooperation that exist among them before the passing of their father, while also charging them to take good care of their late father’s widows.

While commending Hon. Sanai Agunbiade for his goodness and representation, Imam Kosoko also charged politicians, especially those in positions of authority, to make good use of their offices and write good history about themselves.

Speaking at the burial prayer session, the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, also described late Alhaji Anifowoshe as a steadfast, dependable and God – fearing leader who was loyal and committed to the party while he was alive.

“He was steadfast, dependable and a leader that you can trust. He was a progressive and committed party leader. He always keeps to his words. If you discuss anything with him and he gives his words, you can be rest assured that if you come back two years later, the issue will not change”, Hon. Agunbiade said.

Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Deputy Apex leader, Ikorodu Division APC, speaking with THE IMPACT, described the late politician as a consistent progressive and reliable and dependable leader in Ikorodu West LCDA.

“Alhaji Anifowoshe was an elderly party man in Ikorodu. He was a contemporary of Late Chief Mufutau Ajisebutu. He has consistently been a progressive person”, Asipa Kaoli said.

“He was an apex leader here (Ikorodu West LCDA), next to Alhaji Alogba. They hold this place very firm and we always win elections here because of them and other committed leaders that we have here.

“He was reliable, consistent and a progressive person. The party will miss him, but the beauty of it is that the process has built successor’s plans for younger ones who will be able to take over from him.

“On behalf of the party, we wish that God will grant him Aljanah Firdaus and rest in the bosom of the Lord”, Aspa Kaoli prayed.nother APC leader and former Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Otunba Tijani Jimoh Olasunkanmi, said that late Anifowoshe never wavered but remained truthful and committed to the party.

“He was a father and a man that really persevered. He was denied the House of Representatives ticket in 1999 and he never wavered”, Otunba Tijani said.

“He was a man that we trusted. Come rain, come shine, he was always there for us.

“The party will miss him a lot. He was the man who has been holding the mandate group in Ikorodu West LCDA for a very long time and has been deputizing effectively for Alhaji Alogba.

“Our prayer is that God would give us a replacement”, he said.

Dr Adeola Jokomba, former Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA and aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly, also spoke about the late politician in the same manner that others did.

“Alhaji Anifowoshe was a thorough and disciplined man. A man that was God – fearing and didn’t do ‘Magomago’ in his own politics. I remember each time that I came to see him, he was always straight in his discussion with me”, Hon. Jokomba said.

“I pray that God should forgive all his sins and may his soul continue to rest in peace”.

The Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, said that Alhaji Anifowoshe’s death is a personal loss to him.

“Personally, I have lost a dear person. He was one of those that made me to be Chairman of the council. He was a charismatic leader and very straightforward person. He was straightforward to the core.

“A very stable human being and politician and a fantastic man. May his soul rest in peace.

Another Assembly aspirant, Mr Yinka Majekodunmi, said that late Anifowoshe was an upright man.

“He was an upright man and someone that does not compromise standard in political arrangement”, he said.

“You can see positive adjectives that people are using to qualify him and those are what he was. We have lost a great man”.

(Princess) Jumoke Ademehin, former Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA and Hon. Segun Aluko, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA.
