The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed shock and disbelief over the death of one of the party’s Chieftains in Ikorodu, Chief Adenrele Reuben Olowu.

Chief Olowu passed on early Friday at a medical facility abroad where he was receiving treatment.

In a statement signed by Hon. Olanrewaju Sunmi Odesanya and sent to THE IMPACT on Sunday, the party described Chief Olowu as a committed party man.

The statement also said that the late party Chieftain contributed to the deepening of democracy.

“It’s with complete shock and disbelief that I received the news of Chief Reuben Olowu (JP)’s passing”, he said.

“He had a wonderful presence and was a committed and essential member of our great party, APC. As a party stalwart, he was greatly influential and successful in representing, advancing & protecting the interests of Ikorodu Division. Indeed, he played a big role in deepening both our local and national democracy and the vacuum occasioned by his demise cannot be refilled.

“On behalf of the Lagos State’s All Progressives Congress exco and on my own behalf, allow me to offer the most profound condolences to the Olowu family and the entire membership of our party for this colossal demise.

“It’s my prayer that he’s welcomed back home with a smile by his Creator, having lived his life with total commitment to human and national development”, he prayed.

“Rest well, great leader”.
