Ayangbure Installs High Chief Orikemi – Lambo As Mosene Of Ikorodu

His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu with High Chief Wasiu Biodun Orikemi- Lambo, the newly installed Mosene of Ikorodu during the installation ceremony at the Ayangbure palace in Ikorodu on Saturday.

The Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom and First Permanent Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has installed new Mosene of Ikorodu.

The new Mosene, High Chief Wasiu Biodun Orikemi- Lambo, was installed at the Ayangbure palace on Saturday, February 19, 2022, with dignitaries, traditional chiefs, Mosene family members and others in attendance.

Baale of Ojogbe, Chief Kayode Olomo, on behalf of the Mosene family, presented the candidate for the position to Oba Shotobi and stated that  the choice of Chief Orikemi- Lambo was collectively agreed upon by the family.

He described the new Chief as a good ambassador of the family.

While performing the installation rites, Oba Shotobi said that the new chief has attained an eminent position in the society with the traditional position.

He charged him to always be guided with the demand of the position in all that he will be doing.

“With this installation, you are now occupying an eminent position. The position is affluent and I know it because I have been there”, Oba Shotobi said.

“You cannot be angry again or fight anybody because of the position that you have attained.

“This is a position that will make you command respect from the people. It will bring you prosperity and honour”.

The royal father also charged the new chief to ensure that he takes good care of his family.

A member of the family who offered the opening prayer at the event, Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), speaking with THE IMPACT, congratulated the new chief and wished him well.

“I congratulate the new Mosene, our ambassador in whom we are very well pleased. He is a man that is well qualified for the title. He is educated, knowledgeable and has the requisite capacity to handle the position.

Mr Hameed Oladeinde, who was also at the installation ceremony, also congratulated the new Mosene of Ikorodu.

Profile Of High Chief Wasiu Biodun Orikemi- Lambo

High Chief Wasiu Biodun Orikemi- Lambo was born in the 50s to the Adeigbe Lambo branch of Mosene Chieftaincy Family of Ikorodu kingdom.

Educational background:

He attended Muslim ‘A’ Primary School, Ikorodu, for his first leaving certificate and later went to United Secondary Modern School, Ikorodu, where he obtained his Modern Three & Commercial Four certificates in 1972.

High Chief Wasiu Biodun Orikemi- Lambo also went to Victory High School, Ikeja, where he joined in Form 2.

He moved to a boarding house at Fakunle Comprehensive Secondary School, Oshogbo, where he obtained his WASCE in 1976.

After working briefly as a Teacher in United Secondary Modern School/United High School, Chief Ikemi – Lambo got admission into Lagos State College of Science & Technology, Isolo, for his OND/HND in Business Administration in 1985.

He had a Postgraduate Certificate Course in Public Relations and Advertising from Nigerian Institute of Journalism in 1992 and another Post Graduate Diploma Course in Marketing from the University of Lagos in 1994.

He was admitted into the University of Ado-Ekiti for his Masters Program in Business Administration (MBA) which he bagged in 2002.

Work Experience:

Class Teacher from 1976 – 1982.

International Breweries Plc, Ilesa, as Public Relations Officer, Manager Public Relations and Statistics Manager.

Sales & Depot Manager in Ilesa/Ife zone; Ondo & Ekiti States and Oshogbo in Osun State.

He left the job for private business in Blocks & Concrete Moulding, Haulage and Transportation, Lands and General Contractor.

High Chief Wasiu Biodun Orikemi- Lambo is married with children.
