Igbogbo Day 2021 Will Be Powered By Technology

The planning committee for the 2021 Igbogbo Day has stated that the 33rd annual celebrations holding this year will be driven by technology.

According  to the committee, people anywhere around the world can follow and watch the events scheduled to hold for 7-days, via zoom and other devices online.

This was revealed by the Chairman, Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Mr Titilope Andu – Balogun, while unveiling programmes lined – up for the festival at the Adeboruwa Pavilion, Adeburuwa palace at the weekend.

“This year’s celebrations take the baton of continuity of progress. The main concept behind the foundation concept continues on this path”, Mr Andu – Balogun said.

“This year’s celebration is powered by technology and can be followed online via zoom.

“The major events will be available to watch on mobile phones and other devices online in real time worldwide”.

On the events outlined for the celebrations, the planning committee chairman said that they would be kicked – off with both traditional and Islamic prayers on November 19.

“We will kick start this year’s celebration with prayers (Iwure and Jumat Service) on 19th November, 2021, in the morning till 2pm”, he said.

 “Afterwards, Award of Excellence and Dinner will be held with His Royal Majesty (Oba) Abdul-Semiu Orimadegun Kasali (Adeboruwa of Igbogbo kingdom) in the evening by 5pm.

“Award of Excellence will be accorded to indigenes of Igbogbo, and recognized dwellers of Lagos State in general. Igbogbo Carnival, Ram Fight Competition and Igbogbo Hall of Fame are fixed for Saturday 20th November/Sunday 21st November 2021.

“Last lap of presentations entails: final stage of Science, Exhibition, Igbogbopeadia, Cultural Day, Health Day and Welfare Package Delivery to befitting elders in the town. The finals of the football competition will also be held during the week as well as Oloja Day, Youth Empowerment/Youth Gala and Beauty Pageant to round up activities.

“Friday 26th is slated for Tree Planting Day after an enlightenment Seminar on benefits of Restoration of Green Infrastructure in Lagos State.

“The grand finale will come up on 27th November 2021, at the Igbogbo Sports Stadium by 12pm, where a renowned Fuji musician will entertain guests and well wishers”
