IKODASS Honours Elias, Osikoya, Sowemimo, Pelaiye, Others With Fellow, Associate Awards

-Knights Club, Chief Akinsanya receive Club, Heritage awards.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Lagos State University, Ojo, Prof. Elias Olukorede Wahab, has been honoured as a Fellow by the Ikorodu–Oga Development Association (IKODASS).

He was awarded during the Oga Awards as part of activities of the 30th Ikorodu–Oga Day Carnival at the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

Prof Elias was honoured with a Fellow award alongside Mr Adesina Sogo Oshikoya, FPA, the Head of Administration/ Council Manager, Mushin Local Government, Mr Kazeem Abioye Sowemimo, Chief Executive Officer, Savefirst Environment Services and Comrade Pelaiye Jamiu Okanlawon, the Assistant Chief Public Affairs Officer, Ikorodu West LCDA.

The Club and Cultural Heritage awards were presented to The Knights Club and High Chief Wasiu Adeyinka Omogbolahan Akinsanya, the Alashe/Baale Itunmoja.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, IKODASS, congratulated recipients, adding that they deserved the honour.

He also charged them to see the award as call to further service to Ikorodu community and humanity in general.

“You have done well to make it this far. Like the river course, your course started quietly out of the limelight but today, your honour is in the full view of all. Congratulations.

“As I congratulate you, I also challenge you not to relent on your oars. The river continuously flows, you must strive to do more.

“You must continuously better your best in the spirit of IKODASS. Yesterday’s pinnacle must be your starting point today. That is the secret of sustained improvement.

“You have invariably become IKODASS Ambassadors and by extension Ikorodu. Be good ambassadors and be careful because whatever that you do may be seen to be done by IKODASS and by extension, ikorodu” he said.

Also honoured are: Mr Animashaun Hakeem Adebayo, the Approving Officer, Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, ikoyi/Victoria Island District Office; Mr Enilolobo A. Ayinde and Alhaji (Chief) Alebiosu Olawale Riliwan, Baale of Poro Boge.

In the Associate Award category are Alhaja Silifat Jokotade Odusoga (nee Olayinka), a successful business woman and lecturer, Alhaji Jamiu Omotayo Shonubi, a businessman, Alhaji (Prince) Hakeem Adesola Sholanke Fowosere, also a businessman and Mrs Olupebi Laulat Abodun, a retired Assistant Head Teacher.

Otunba (Sir) Ayodele Elesho, the Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom who chaired the occasion also charged the awardees to see the award as call to more service to Ikorodu and humanity in general.

The award ceremony was attended by many dignitaries.
