Football Administrators Commend Ikorodu FA, Quality Football Performance

The Chairmen of the Epe and Badagry Divisional Football Associations have commended the Ikorodu FA for sustaining football at the grassroots with consistent football engagements.

They also praised young players in the division for their football artistry after watching the match between UNIZEE FC, the 2020/2021 champion of the Ikorodu Divisional League, and Jesuslinks FC, the runners-up, at the Police Barracks Playing Ground, Ikorodu, on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

The two administrators, who were guests at the match, spoke with THE IMPACT after the match.

Mr Segun Osinaike , Chairman of the Epe Football Association who also doubled as the Chairman, Lagos State Divisional Football Associations, described the game as football at its best, while he also commended the Ikorodu FA and its chairman.

“What I have seen here today is grassroots football at its best. I see that we have a bundle of talents in this division and if what we have here today can be developed further, the sky is their limits”, he said.

“The chairman of Ikorodu division FA has been doing a yeoman’s job for the development of grassroots football because I have been following football events in Ikorodu for so long and I have seen that it has been a consistent organization of football activities. Kudos to him” he added.

Chairman, Badagry Divisional Football Association, Prince Mobi Nenayon Kayode, said that he is highly impressed with the quality of the game by both teams.

“This is what we have been praying for to see football at a different grassroots level and with what I have seen here, I think that we are moving forward with football in Lagos State”, he said.

“I am highly impressed with what I have seen here today.

“Very soon, we shall be having scouts coming around to watch matches now that we have football tournaments at different divisional levels. By this time next year, you will see football scouts and managers coming to the grassroots to pick players”, he said.
