Residents React To KRD 106.1FM Commencement Of Transmission

Rep. Babajimi Benson, the initiator of the IKD 106.1FM on air during the visit of royal fathers and council chairmen in Ikorodu Division at the weekend.

Residents of Ikorodu Division and others have been reacting to the news that IKD 106.1 FM has officially commenced transmission in Ikorodu last Sunday, March 14, 2021.

They reacted to the news publication solely carried on THE IMPACT website and its other online platforms which was also shared on the Ikorodu Ambassadors Group and other social media platforms related to Ikorodu.

Hon. Babajimi Benson, the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, House of Representatives, Abuja, initiated and established the community radio station.

Cross section of those that commented described the establishment of the radio station as a good development for Ikorodu while they also commended Rep. Benson for his ceaseless representation and efforts in developing lkorodu Federal Constituency which comprises of six local governments.

The Chairman, Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Ikorodu branch, Comrade Fakolade Oluwafemi, commenting on the development, said:

 “Impactful representation. Kudos to a wonderful leader”.

Ade Inasa – Thomas, a senior lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu main campus also commenting said:

“A good development”.

Lion Akamo Lookman Alao, a community developer and public analyst, described the commencement of transmission by the radio station as a right step towards making Ikorodu the headquarters of the state.

“This is lovely, lkorodu is now HEAD QUARTER, Oriwu Asale jeje……JB, continue your great work bruh!, Sky is your limit….Ajúsé”.

Orikemi Fatai, commenting, said:

“Within two days that l listened to it, l am already addicted to it. I tuned to that station by mistake on Tuesday and since then, it has been my plug, especially that “akotan inu iwe iroyin”. I loved it”, he said.

Also commenting, Mobolaji Otuwa said:

“Kudos to (Honourable Jimi Benson) for ably representing Ikorodu constituency (Son Of The Soil), Good development to Ikorodu division”.

Steno BG, another listener, also said:

“Wow! I listened to the station on Monday and Tuesday and never knew it was just launched on air, great job there”.

A politician and social media commentator, Prince Deji Osho, JP., simply described the establishment of the radio station as:

 “A welcome development”.

 Ogbu Nolith Uche also said:

 “Nice one, I noticed the building is wearing a new look”.

Adeola Sobowale, also commending the lawmaker for the establishment  of the radio station, said:

“God bless you Hon Jimi Benson, son of d soil, true son of Ikorodu Oga.Much love brother, more blessing always”.

Another resident, Olaide Ramon, prayed that:

“May the lord bless this man for this. This is a great honour for IKORODU”.

Owosanya Nurat Ibrahim Atinuke said that the radio station will further develop Ikorodu and called for collective support for the station.

 “Igbega lkorodu, ajumose gbogbo wa ni”.

 Lawal Abdul Rosheed Abiodun said that the station will further enhance Ikorodu’s development and greatness.

“This is just the beginning, we are supposed to have gone far than this. Congratulations and kudos to you all for the success of this great project. Keep it up”.

 Khadijah Ogidan wrote:

“UP IKD 106.1, I am enjoying the programmes. Ile ise na konijona. Warafanahu monkana aliya”.

 Hezekiah Ola Aduroja said:

 “You are welcome.May the initiative not suffer still birth in Jesus name”.

 Bolajoko Sarumi, also commenting, said:

 “Congratulations. This is a great step going forward”.

Friday Nwodoma, another resident, also described the development as a good one.

 “It is a great achievement. More grace in Jesus name”.

 Oguntala AbdulAfeez Babatunde Aderemilekun also said:

 “To speak is easy, to be heard is easy, to listen is easy but to make things work and be perfect is another thing on its own”.

Omooba Ahmed said that the station will make Ikorodu voice to be heard.

 “Good, good, I repeat good. Well done.  At least, our voices will be heard”.

 Ipaye Ajibade Abd’mojeed, also commenting, said:

 “A very good initiative. This is what we are asking our reps and senators to be doing, not always I support the motion”.

Another resident, Raji Olarenwaju, said:

“Wonderful, this is what we have been waiting for, thanks to you all for the successful job. The voice of lkorodu will now be heard loud and clear”.
