Int’l Women’s Day: Lagos First Lady Calls For Gender Equality, Fight Violence Against Women

Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, in commemoration of the 2021 International Women’s  Day on Monday (today), called for a world where genders are equal and concerted fight against any form of violence against women.

Dr Sanwo – Olu, in a message on her social media platforms, also congratulated women on their achievements and for the advancement of girls – child in the state and global village.

“On this auspicious occasion of the International Women’s Day, I celebrate the achievements, resilience, commitment, passion and dedication of women and girls in our dear state and across the world.

“This celebration also presents a golden opportunity for us to forge a gender equal world, challenge gender stereotypes, maintain gender equal mindset and frontally confront all forms of sexual and gender-based violence against women in order to make the world a better place”, Dr Sanwo – Olu said.
