Ikorodu Football Family Loses Financier, Destiny FC Owner, Otunba Debo Ogunade

Otunba Debo Ogunade, popularly called, ‘Big Debo’ in action during his lifetime.

Football family in Ikorodu on Sunday (yesterday) lost another pillar and financier, Otunba Adebowale Ogunade, popularly called ‘Big Debo’.

He was the owner and sole financier of the Destiny Boys Football Club of Ikorodu.

The Otunba of Okun – Owa in Ijebu was a football financier, club owner, footballer, socialite and a philanthropist of note.

The Chairman of the Ikorodu Football Divisional Association (IDFA), Alhaji Luqman Shonibare, confirmed the death to THE IMPACT today.

Shonibare described the death of Otunba Ogunade as a great loss to the football family in Ikorodu because of his love, funding and support for the game.

The distraught retired FIFA graded Referee expressed great worry over what will become of the boys in the Destiny FC whom the late financier has been grooming, managing and looking after for many years.

Aside managing a football club where he assisted young and talented boys to discover themselves and achieve their dreams, he also engaged in sponsoring football tournaments to promote competitiveness.

THE IMPACT gathered that Otunba Ogunade was,briefly sick and recovered before his sad death.
