Ikorodu Loses Journalist, Politician, Youth Leader, Olalekan Murisiku

Alhaji Shamsudeen Olalekan Murisku, JP.

It was a Black Sunday for media and political circles in the Ikorodu Division as a vibrant journalist and politician, Alhaji Shamsudeen Olalekan Murisku, JP, was lost to the cold hands of death. He was 43-year-old.

Late Murisiku, a journalist and Online Content Developer, THE IMPACT gathered, died in an hospital located within the Federal Low – Cost Housing Estate, Sabo, lkorodu.

As a devoted Muslim while alive, prayers were offered for his remains at the Federal Lowcost Housing Estate Central Mosque while he was interred at a Muslim cemetery in Gberigbe.

The vibrant and FRCN trained journalist was a News reporter with Radio One 103.5FM.

He was also the Publisher of Community Herald (Print and Online).

Murisiku, also served as the Publisher – in – Chief of the Megaphone, a political news medium of Hon. SOB Agunbiade, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Some years back, he was elected as the Majority Leader 2 of the Lagos State Youth Parliament.

The late journalist was also a founding member of the Ikorodu League of Journalists (LJI) and Ikorodu Community Media Practitioners (IKOCOMP).

As a politician, late Murisiku aspired for the position of the Chairman of the Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area in 2017 and he was the first aspirant among many that aspired then to constitute and also made open his campaign team for proper prosecution of his campaign agenda.

He was a Personal Assistant to the former Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr Abdul-Hakeem Abdul – Lateef and media aide to the former Chairman of the Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon (Prince) Adeola Muyideen Jokomba.

He was also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and member of the Hon. SOB Agunbiade’s political machinery, Onward Movement of Nigeria.
