Prince Lanre Sanusi, the former aspirant for the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency seat in Federal  House of Representatives, has called on the people of his constituency and entire Lagos residents to rally round the State Government in this trying period.

He said that Lagosians needed to protect the future of the state and the legacy that it has taken so much pains to build by supporting the government and the ruling party.

In a statement by Prince Sanusi, a copy  of which was sent to THE IMPACT, the young politicians said that the challenges facing citizens of Nigeria have reached a point where people are now frustrated but called for patience.

“My dear fellow constituents, it is an open secret how recent events have announced the arrival of our beloved Nation at a point where the frustration of citizens on the challenges facing our nation have reached a crescendo”, he said.

“These times call for our prayers and patience”.

While stating that the events of the last two weeks where hoodlums had wreaked havoc on the state’s facilities and monuments, is greatly challenging for the government, Prince Sanusi called on the residents of the state to cooperate and support the state government in surmounting the trying times.

“Unfortunately, some paid and unpaid rogues and political agents have destroyed the public infrastructure and assets, most of which contributed to the success of our dear home State – Lagos and the cosmopolitan stature (aesthetics) that Lagos is known for the world over.

“This is a time we need to stand by our Government in Lagos, Our Party, and our home State. We need to partner with our Government to protect our future jointly and the legacy we have taken much pain to build for our children and generation yet unborn”, he pleaded.

“We must be vigilant, stay calm, be unperturbed, stay focused, stay safe and healthy and support our leaders and Government to continue to move our dear Lagos State to the position of envy amongst other States in Nigeria and the world at large”.

The former House of Representative aspirant, while identifying with victims of the EndSARS protest and the violence that followed, prayed for the repose of the dead while also wishing those that sustained injuries and others whose businesses and properties were affected quick recovery.

“My heart goes sincerely to those who lost their loved ones. May the souls of all the departed rest in peace. Those who lost their possessions; those whose shops and businesses were looted by the hoodlums and those who ssustained injuries (slight & severe)…May God in His mercy heal and replenish them all”.

He also charged his constituents and entire people in Badagry Division of Lagos State to remain resolute in the face of dire time.

“Fellow Lagosian, Badagry Division and Amuwoans, let us remain strong and resolute. It is our trying times and we shall overcome it.

“To our Great Party leaders, I really salute you all for your maturity and steadfastness.

“To my 2 mayors, I really salute your courage, loyalty to our Party and Government and your relentlessness even in the stir of this trying times. I pray to God to grant you both, Hon. Valentine Buraimoh (VOB) and Hon. Ramota Akinola (RAH), the grace and strength to continue to lead in courage and love.

“To my great team of progressives and democrats, I love you all and will always do so”.
