LASWA Reiterates Commitment To Safe Water Transportation

Hon. Temitope Adewale, the Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Transportation (right) and Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, the General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) during the visit of the Assembly committee on Transportation.

The General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, has reiterated the commitment of the agency towards ensuring safe water transportation.

Emmanuel stated this during a working visit of members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Transportation, assuring them that the Agency will continue to improve on its services.

He affirmed that LASWA is focused on ensuring the safety and security of its passengers as well as creating an enabling environment for water transportation to thrive.

 “We are working with relevant stakeholders to put quality infrastructure in place for the benefit of Lagosians”.

Hon. Temitope Adewale, the Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Transportation, speaking during the visit lauded LASWA for its noticeable efforts in commuting passengers across the waterways, thereby reducing the pressure on the roads.

While imploring the agency not to rest on its oars, the lawmakers charged the General Manager to create a more enabling environment, infrastructure, safety and security through public-private partnership for the water transportation commuting public.

Members of the Assembly committee later went on a boat ride from LASWA Five Cowries Terminal in Falomo to Mile 2 Ferry Terminal.
