The Chief Imam, Awobo Central Mosque and Co-Chairman, Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC), Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Khalifat Imam Sheriff Andu is dead.
Khalifat was 44 and died on Wednesday, June 17, in Igbogbo, Ikorodu Division of Lagos State, after a brief illness.
His remains was interred at Ewu-Abiye in Igbogbo, after Muslim prayers.
The late Imam who was the son of the Chief Imam of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, was a popular, respected and revered Islamic cleric within the Ikorodu Division Muslim Community.
He was survived by his aged father, wives and children.
Khalifat Andu attended Anglican Primary School, Ikorodu for his primary education and later, the premier college in Ikorodu Division, Oriwu College.
