Prince Adedoyin Distributes COVID – 19 Palliatives To Residents

About 100 residents of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) benefited from the relief packages distributed by Prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Oyeneye, an health official and the Coordinator of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President 2023, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chapter, as part of his support for those affected by the lockdown.

The brief event, which was held at the Jokotex Hotel located at Itamope community, opposite Lucky Fibre, Parafa Oja, Ikorodu North LCDA, on Monday, May 11, 2020, was also used by Prince Adedoyin to sensitize the beneficiaries on how they can help in curtailing the spread of the Coronavirus.

He also charged them to adhere strictly to the measures stipulated by the government in preventing the virus from spreading.

Prince Adedoyin, while speaking at the distribution event, pleaded with the beneficiaries of his gesture to accept the small packages presented to them.

While stating that he has always engaged in activities that bring developments to the community through health outreaches in Ikorodu Division, Prince Adedoyin charged the beneficiaries to ensure that they adhere to the directives by the health professionals and government on how to prevent them from being infected with the virus.

“I thank you all for honouring our invitation”, he said thankfully.

“We have been involving in community development activities like health outreaches long before now. We had organized many programmes to sensitise people on many health related issues and also treated many people during the programmes.

“What we are giving out today is our own way of supporting those that are affected by the lockdown. These packages are small and we plead that you accept us as we are”, he said.

“We deem it fit to reach out to residents whose daily income have been affected by the government’s measures in curtailing the spread of COVID – 19.

“I understand that many people are not used to begging for money or material things but the challenges of this time have made them to ask for support and since government alone cannot do it, we decided to help in our own little way”.

Speaking on the ravaging disease, Prince Adedoyin said that COVID – 19 is real and charged those in attendance to ignore those saying otherwise and urged them to protect themselves from the virus which has attained community level.

“I can tell you categorically as an health official that that COVID – 19 is real and we must ensure that we adhere strictly to necessary measures issued by health professionals and government”, he said.

“It is very important that we maintain physical distance as much as possible, wash our hands with soap and water regularly and also use sanitizer”.

He also charged the beneficiaries to ensure that they keep personal hygiene.

Mr Habeeb Adeyemi, Secretary, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President 2023, Ikorodu North LCDA Chapter, speaking at the event, commended the donor of the relief, adding that he has over the years been involving in community activities.

“This is another commendable effort by Prince Adedoyin who has been extending hands of fellowship to people and organizing free health programmes which have benefited many across the Ikorodu Division.

“Today, he felt that he should give out in form of palliative measures to his people.

“He is a young man that is concerned about his people’s welfare during the lockdown”.

Representatives of League of Imams, youth groups, Community Development Associations (CDAs) and political groups among others that spoke at the brief distribution event all commended Prince Adedoyin for the gesture.
