The President of I-Heroes (Ikorodu Heroes), a group of professionals and young men that are indigenes of Ikorodu Division, has called on the residents of the state to always wash their hands regularly and adhere to regulations issued by the government in tackling the Coronavirus.

Speaking with THE IMPACT at the 10th anniversary and 4th Annual General Meeting of the group held at Admos hotel in Imota on Saturday, March 21, 2020, I-Heroes President, Mr Seun Eleso charged residents to always wash their hands regularly and also keep their environment clean.

Builder Sesan Daini, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) was the special guest of honour at the event.

“Our organization is totally in support of the government’s directive concerning social distancing in gathering. As you can see, we are maintaining certain measures of distance in this meeting”, he stated.

“We also ensured that sanitizer is provided for members and our guests to wash their hands. You (our reporter) also used the sanitizer when you came around.

“It is part of the measures to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus. The government has stated that we should maintain social distance and that we must not be more than 50. As you can see, we are not even up to twenty”, he stated.

“Initially, our plan was to have a grand party while we also planned to have other media organisations but we had to review that in the face of the deadly disease rampaging the globe. Today, we are only inviting THE IMPACT because of its reach and quality news reportage.

“The government’s directive closing down some public institutions and issuing restriction in some areas are in the public interest. We have to adhere to the restriction since there is no cure for the deadly virus yet.

“Let us ensure that we clean our homes and environment always and also wash our face with water and soap on regular basis instead of wiping it with our hands.

“We pray and hope that an effective cure is found for the disease but meanwhile, let’s stay healthy, clean and observe necessary measures”, he advised.

Meanwhile, in compliance with the government’s directive towards preventing the spread of Coronavirus, members of the I-Heroes sat at the AGM leaving at least a chair in between them.
