Collapsed Sekumade Road Has Been Awarded for Repair, Abandoned Soderu Street To Be Attended To Soon – Hon. Agunbiade

The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade has revealed that the Lagos State Government has already awarded contract for the repair of Sekumade road, also known as Ogolonto/Port Authority Road, Ebute in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

The four-term lawmaker made the revelation in his post on THE IMPACT WhatsApp platform on Thursday, March 5,2020, while giving report on the ongoing 5th Executive/Legislative parley at Golden Tulip hotel at FESTAC, to his contituent.

He also stated that the one project per each of the 377 wards policy of the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat administration in Lagos State will soon commenced.

Hon Agunbiade stated that the government has awarded the contract for the repair of the very strategic road (Sekumade road) which has collapsed for many years due to abandonment, heavy duty trucks’ frequent movement in and out of the Nigeria Port Authority, Ikorodu Terminal located along the axis, as well as pressure by trucks carrying sands to construction sites.

The road has recently turned to a parking lot for these trucks operating at the port and the Dangote section of the port, thereby posing serious threat to road users.

In his post titled, “Take home from the 5th Executve/Legislatve Parley – Ongoing”, the ranking lawmaker stated that: “Sekumade road already awarded for repairs”.

He also added that Suleiman Soderu (Powerline) road, which was awarded to Eko Akete Construction during the administration of Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, as the governor of Lagos State, but was abandoned and has worsened and inflicted hardship on motorists and other road users plying it, would soon be attended to.

“Suleiman Soderu ( Powerline road, Ikorodu) will be attended to soon”, he stated.

“Execution of One project per ward through the Councilors across the state to commence very soon”.

The lawmaker, said that the current administration in the state, which he described as a listening and responsive government, needs prayers and support to do more while  he also informed his constituents that the much talked about construction of the 4th mainland bridge is on course.
