The Special Adviser on Agriculture to the Governor of Lagos State, Ms Ruth Bisola Olusanya, has concluded plans with the Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative Movement (IDYIM) to sponsor an Empowerment/Entrepreneurship Development Workshop for the youths in the division.

The workshop is slated to hold at the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Hall in Rotary Vocational School, Igbogbo, on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Comrade Samson Bisiriyu, a member of the IDYIM Board of Trustees and the Executive Director of the movement, while speaking with THE IMPACT, stated that the workshop is a continuation of the IDYIM empowerment process which commenced in October at the 2nd edition of the Ikorodu Division Youth Summit.

He added that the workshop is part of the process to further empower the youths of the division, who according to him, have been engaged by the movement in one way or the other.

“The workshop is meant to further prepare beneficiaries of our empowerment programmes for the challenges ahead in the business world. It’s our plan to further place them on the path to greatness. They have been trained and some of them have also been given money to start/further their businesses but there is need for us to impact more, especially in the area of business management, financial management and how they can face challenges in the competitive business world”, he stated.

 Comrade Bisiriyu also added that:

“The workshop is strictly for all beneficiaries of the N1, 000,000 (One million naira) Free Interest Loan facilitated by Pastor Bayo Oteju, applicants that collected forms for IDYIM Free Vocational  Training and all beneficiaries of 3D Epoxy Training sponsored by Ms Abisola Olusanya”.

The workshop is also supported by the Lagos State Agency For Mass Education.
