2019 Ikorodu-Oga Carnival – Residents Troop Out Enmasse For ‘Woro’ Parade, Showcase Cultural Heritage

Hundreds of residents paying homage to His Royal majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu at his palace during the Woro Carnival that usehered in the 2019 Ikorodu -Oga Carnival on Saturday

Like  the previous edition, it was crowd  galore as a massive number  of residents of Ikorodu trooped out to participate in a marathon ‘Woro’ procession as the much awaited 2019 Ikorodu -Oga Carnival kicked off today in grandstyle.

The event, which usually flags off the annual  celebration, took off  in the early hours of the day from the Ikorodu town hall where the Chairman, Ikorodu -Oga Development Association  (IKODASS), Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, led a cheering crowd of Ikorodu indigenes and residents in a fun filled procession along major streets in Ikorodu.

The procession train briefly stopped over at several historic and traditional houses and shrines to pay homage.

The procession later terminated at the Ayangbure palace where different traditional groups and sects in Ikorodu displayed their traditional heritages while Oba Kabir Shotobi and other dignitaries were on ground to savour the fun offered by the gathering.

Asa, Igunuko, and Eyo among other masquerades added colour to the ‘Woro’ procession.
