Oriwu College’s Old Students Hold Thanksgiving Service At Ikorodu African Church Cathedral

The exciting weeklong activities marking the 70th anniversary of Oriwu College, Ikorodu, was brought to a close on Sunday, November 3, 2019, with a thanksgiving service at the African Church Bethel Cathedral, Aga,Ikorodu.

As early as 8am on that day, officers and members of the Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN), who were all dressed in white attired with blue caps and headgears to match, started arriving the the premises of the church which, at a point in time, had served as location for the premier college in Ikorodu division.

Speaking during the service, Engr. Charles Longe OCOSAN President, thanked the founders of Oriwu College for establishing the school which he described as a pride of Lagos State.

He also commended all the old students for the success of the 70th anniversary of the school.

“We are doing the thanksgiving service here because this church premise is one of those places that had accommodated Oriwu College at inception.

“It’s been a long week and we are happy to gather here for the thanksgiving service.

“Although, the association has made a, donation  of N100, 000 towards the purchase of a camera for the Church, but that is not enough and today, we shall be raising more. We are also going to encourage our members that are not here today to send their own donations too”, Engr. Longe stated.

Meanwhile, the presiding officer commended the old students for deeming it fit to celebrate the school anniversary and give thanks.

Also at the thanksgiving service were Alhaji Safari Aremu Sule, Sir David Sunmoni, Aremo Segun Ogunlewe, Elder Awoye, Engr. Afolabi Dixon, Alhaji Olorunimbe, Mr Kunle Olanbiwoninu, Amb. Shola Awojobi Onayiga among others.
