Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker Joins Other Stakeholders To Find Solutions To Global Hunger

The representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in Abuja, Hon. Babajimi Benson, on Thursday, March 13, 2019, joined other stakeholders across the world to discuss the issue of global hunger  and finding ways out of the menace.

The gathering was the 14th Annual Presidents United to Solve Hunger (PUSH) and Universities Fighting World Hunger Summit(UFWH) which was held at the University of Maine , United States of America.

This year’s summit was themed, ” UN Challenge 2030: Working To Achieve a Zero Hunger World”.

According to Hon. Benson, the invitation to join the summit as a panelist was based on his initiative, iCare Food Bank program, which has been running for about two years.

He added that he would be talking at the summit on how iCare FoodBank initiative has been able to deployed data in meeting the food needs of people in his immediate environment.

Other members of the panel moderated by Max Finberg, President and Chief Executive Officer, Growing Hope Globally, are David Austin, Director of Strategic Partnerships, World Food Program (WFP) , Alainna Lynch, Research Manager UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Vimlendra Sharan, Food and Agriculture Liason Office Washington, DC.
