Re-Election: Hon. Benson Says He still Cares, Urges Electorate To Vote APC For Governorship, State Assemblies In Ikorodu

Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, the re-elected representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, has told his constituents that he still cares in appreciation of his re-election feat in the   February 23 Presidential/National Assembly Elections.

The lawmaker,  who was first elected by the people of Ikorodu division in 2015, was re-elected last Saturday to represent  the division in the Federal House of Representatives till 2023.

In a statement which was released on Monday and titled, “My Heartfelt Appreciation’, and also signed by the federal lawmaker,  he stated that he still cares for his people.

“Coming into this election, I was confident of the people’s genuine support and they didn’t disappoint me.

“I thank the good people of Ikorodu Federal Constitiency for the opportunity to serve ’Le e kan si’. With the renewed mandate, we shall endeavour to represent you better, draw from our collective networks and continue to project Ikorodu division in good light.

“As we have turned out en masse for the Presidential and National Assembly elections, let us consolidate on the effort in the Governorship and State Assembly elections by voting the All Progressives Congress to ensure perfect synergy amongst our representatives.

“Finally, permit me to emphasize my slogan “Ikorodu, Ikorodu West, Ikorodu North, Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Ijede, Imota, iCare” .

Hon. Benson polled 40, 563 votes in the Presidential/National Assembly elections held on Saturday (February 23) across the 19 wards in Ikorodu Local Government to defeat his closest rival, Disu Ramota Omotolani, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 19, 825 votes.

Meanwhile, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the candidate of the APC for the State Assembly election slated for $ March 9, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, has congratulated the re-elected federal lawmaker.

In a release on his facebook wall titled, “My brother, Jimi Benson”, Hon. Agunbiade congratulated Hon. Benson and pray that the Lord will grant him more strength to serve humanity the more.

“On behalf of myself, my wife, and the entire members of Team SOB, I share in the joy of your success at the poll and your consequential declaration as the winner of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

“The mighty Lord will continue to strengthen you for more services to humanity”.
