The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Education District II, Mr Olusanya Ebenezer Abayomi, has commended schools in Ikorodu for good performance.

He also urged parents to wait for the Supreme Court ruling on the controversies surrounding hijab wearing to schools by Muslim students.

The TG/PS spoke at the Oriwu Senior Model College Honours Day 2018/19 held at the School hall on Thursday, February 7, 2019.

“I have gone round some schools this morning to see what is going on when I arrived Ikorodu today. I was impressed with what I saw. Kudos to schools in Ikorodu.

“What I witnessed shows that the government is taking good care of our schools.

He appealed to the parents threatening court action against schools and government to wait for the pronouncement of the Supreme Court on the wearing of Hijab to school by Muslim students.

“Let me clarify it here that the Hijab case is still before the Supreme Court.

“What we are saying is that all the parties should maintain the status quo until the court made final pronouncement on the matter.

“Those threatening us with litigation should stop harassing government and wait till the court made its pronouncement”, he appealed.
