Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Lays Foundation For Ultra-Modern Office Complex, Commissions Tractor For Drainage Evacuation

The Chairman of the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Comrade Sesan Daini, supported by the traditional rulers, party leaders and other major stakeholders in the council, on Thursday, December 13, 2018, laid the foundation for the construction of an ultra-modern office complex for the council.

 

The historic ground breaking ceremony was coming exactly 15 years after the creation of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA alongside 36 other LCDAs in Lagos State by the administration of the former governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

When completed, the one-storey building would have 28 offices, 1 multi-purpose hall, 1 conference hall for the chairman, marriage registry, 37 toilets and 3 entrances into the building and 1 special entrance for the chairman.

 

The construction of the office complex was awarded to Western Concrete Nigeria Limited.

Official vehicles for the Council Leader and other members of the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA’s Legislative Arm

Five official vehicles, which included one Highlander jeep and four Camry cars, were also presented to the Leader of the council’s Legislative Arm and four other members at the event.

 

The historic event also witnessed the commissioning of a tractor purchased by the council for the excavation of drainages across the council.

 

Comrade Daini, while speaking at the event, stated that the construction of a new edifice for the council would be completed in 52 weeks.

 

“Today mark the beginning of the 52 weeks project. In the next 52 weeks, we shall all gathered here again to commission an ultra-modern office complex for the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA)” , he assured.

 

“It’s going to be a big project and a lovely place to be.

“By the time we finish this project, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA will take the lead among other councils in the state. It will be the pride of Igbogbo which other councils will not be able to match.”

 

While commissioning the five official vehicles for the Councilors, the Chairman stated that they are meant to assist the legislators in their primary duties.

 

“This official vehicles provided for the legislators as official cars are presented to aid their work.

 

“They are meant to add value to our lawmakers and propel them to do better in making impactful legislations.

 

“The tractor that we are also commissioning today will be used in excavating drainages and moving the excavated items away.

 

“The purchase become necessary to help in protecting our roads that are under construction from collapse by clearing our drainages and not allowing them to be blocked and spilling water on the surface of the roads.”

Gbenga Basanya, former Council Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Yeye Bolanle Basorunh, former Executive Secretary, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Pastor Ola Aiyetoba, former APC Chairman in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Chief Dele Olowu, APC Chieftain and High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo among other dignitaries.
