Ikorodu All Stars Roll Out Programmes For 30 Years Anniversary

Ikorodu All Stars Football Organization, a footballing association founded in 1988 to facilitate opportunities for professional players in the community to play professional football for various clubs in the country and abroad, has clocked 30 years and members are rolling out drums to celebrate the feat.

 

The unique celebration kicked-off on Sunday, October 21, 2018, with a Special Church Service at Patriarch Bolaji Johnson Methodist Cathedral Church, Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu.

 

Members of the association, who were looking sportive in their track suit attires, turned out enmasse for the church service to give thanks to God for sustaining them in the face of many tribulations.

Mr Lanre Olabinjo, the Chairman, All Stars Football Organization, Ikorodu, while speaking at the Hon. SOB Agunbiade Constituency Office, Oke Ota-Ona, where members later converged for merriment, thanked members for their support over the years while also assuring them of fun filled celebration.

He also thanked Hon. Agunbiade for his supports and equally pledged the support of members of the organization for the lawmaker in the general elections.

 

More so, in an interview with THE IMPACT, Mr Olabinjo stated that the organization has achieved the aims and objectives it was established for.

Hon. Agunbiade, in his own remarks, congratulated members of All Stars for attaining 30 years in existence and for keeping the association together.

 

He also appreciated them for supporting his political aspiration with their endorsement and supports.

 

“The truth is that whatever I might have been able to do was because of the position I am occupying and with the return ticket recently given to contest in the general elections for another term, that mean we still have another four years of cooperation and supports for any good cause if I win.

“I also want to thank you for taking the risk with me in endorsing my aspiration. You could have endorsed someone else but you did not only chose me as your preferred aspirant but you also mobilized your members and friends to give me their votes during the primary election of our great party.

 

“I look forward to your continuous support for my candidature in the general elections and also for my party too”, he appealed.

 

According to Alhaji Lukman Sonibare, Chairman, Anniversary Planning Committee, a week-long programmes have been planned for the celebration which commenced last Sunday with  Special Church Service.

“There is going to be visitation to the General Hospital, Ikorodu on Monday, October 22, 2018.

 

“On Thursday, October 25, we have scheduled another visit to the Ayangbure palace where His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Shotobi shall be giving us royal blessings and on Friday, October 26, we shall converge on the Ikorodu Central Mosque at Obun-Ale for Special Jumat Service by 1pm.

A One-day football fiesta has also been planned to hold at the Strong Tower Academy Arena situated on Awolowo Way, Oke Ota-Ona,Ikorodu, starting from 8am on Saturday, October 27, 2018.

The celebration would climax on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at the Ikorodu Town hall where sister associations and invited guests would be joining members of the All Stars Football Organization in drawing the curtain on the great celebration in grand style.

Meanwhile, the association visited the general hospital, Ikorodu on Monday to donate bedspread sets to the hospital.
