Ikorodu Division Hails Adeboruwa of Igbogbo At 50

His Royal majesty, Alaiyelu Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali cutting his 50th birthday cake duriing the celebration on Saturday

Residents across the six councils of Ikorodu division rose in unison on Saturday, October 20, 2018, to hail the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali,  Emugoriade I, as he clocked 50 years.

 

Lovely and affectionate messages were sent to many social media platforms related to Ikorodu division to congratulate the well-loved and revered king.

 

A special Islamic prayer in commemoration of the golden jubilee was organized at the first class monarch’s private resident in Ikorodu where notable dignitaries such as Hon. Babajimi Benson, member Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, former Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Comrade Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeiku LCDA, Hon. Fathiu Salisu, Chairman, Ijede LCDA and Hon. Adeola Banjo, Chhairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, among others were guests of honour.

 

The Ayangbure of Ikorodu, HRM Oba Kabiru Shotobi was represented at the celebration by a team of traditional chiefs who also bore his staff of office.

Also in attendance were Princess Adenrele Ogunsanya, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, Mr Tunji Odusnaya, mni, Hon. Titilayo Gbenga and High Chief Tajudeen Duduyemi Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo who led other members of the Adeboruwa-in-Council to the ceremony.

Members of the monarch’s professional body, the Nigeria Bar Association, Ikorodu branch, were also present at the occasion.

 

Hon. Babajimi Benson, in celebrating the revered monarch at 50, wrote on his Facebook wall:

 

“Kabiyesi , you have been a father to all, your sterling leadership qualities have rejuvenated across the Igbogbo Kingdom berthing a new sense of belonging and unity amongst the people.

 

“Fifth years of existence, no doubt, is a milestone and accomplishment, and you deserve the very best of the celebration.

 

“I pray to God to continue to fortify you with wisdom to reign, protect and preserve you, long shall you reign on the throne of your forefathers”.

Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, in his own tribute written in Yoruba, hailed the monarch and wish him many more years on the throne of his ancestors.

 

The host chairman, Comrade Sesan Daini, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, in a message on behalf of the council stated:

 

“Your reign has no doubt ushered in peace and prosperity to our land. May your reign continue to engender and attract good things to our town and LCDA as it has been the case since you ascended the throne.

 

“As a government, we will continue to do our best to support our revered traditional institutions as partners in progress and development”.

 

The leading socio-cultural group, Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS) in its tribute in commemoration of Oba Kasali’s golden jubilee celebration wrote:

“Happy Golden Jubilee to a great king, HRM Oba Abdulsemiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom (Emugoriade 1). Igba Odun, odun kan!”

 

Mr Monday Ohi Obadan, a community activist and social commentator, also wrote on THE IMPACT platform:

 

“God bless the King! May you live long and may your reign be peaceful and usher in good health and prosperity (3 John 2) to the people and land of Igbogbo Kingdom.  Congratulations Kabiyesi!!!”

 

First Executive Chairman of the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, while also paying tribute to the revered monarch on behalf of himself and family, wrote:

 

“Happy Birthday HRM. Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade 1,the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, on your Golden Jubilee Birthday today, Omo Ijaolu  Elepe.

“May you reign for years on the throne. I also pray that the Almighty Allah will grant you many more opportunities to witness this type of glorious moment on the throne and on earth in good health condition, wisdom and knowledge”.

 

Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, Chairman of Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS) and former Clerk/Permanent Secretary, Lagos State House of Assembly, in his tribute which was posted on THE IMPACT Whatsap platform stated:

 

“Happy birthday to a Royal Majesty of repute. A man of conscientious consideration. Humble, amiable and progressive in thought and action. A proud symbol of our cultural institutions and heritage. A king with no discriminatory inclination and an adjudged campaigner and advocate of good governance.

 

“A king who cherishes good things for his people and identify with their pains and joy. A quintessential gentleman. May your reign be long as you celebrate your birthday today. During your time, I pray that progress and joy shall be the features in your kingdom and in the entire lkorodu division. You are a king in whom most of us are well pleased. Congrats sir. Happy birthday  to you once again my Royal Majesty of indescribable elegance”, he stated.

Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, while also felicitating with the King at 50, stated:

 

“We wish our very dearly beloved Kabiyesi long life, good health and prosperity. May you and yours continuously be richly blessed”.

 

Alhaja Olanrewaju also joined hundreds of other subjects of the monarch in celebrating him by writing thus:

“Congratulations to a noble king, the royal father of Igbogbo kingdom on his golden jubilee birthday, may Allah ( S.W.ST) continue to   be your guidance sir”.

 

The Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Mr Ade Bolowotan, in his own congratulatory message, wrote:

 

“Happy birthday to our dynamic, amiable, competent, reliable king,  HRM Oba (Barr) Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade1, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom. May your reign be long in peace and harmony. Igba odun odun kan ni”.

Mr Anifowoshe Owolabi, in his own congratulatory message, wrote:

 

“Happy birthday to our beloved royal Majesty, the Adeborunwa of Igbogbo kingdom,may your reign continue to witness tremendous development in our land. May you continue to reign in peace, sound mind and great  wealth, Alayeluwa. Happy birthday Oba Orimadegun”.

 

In his own tribute, Prince Olalekan Aroyewun liking Adeboruwa to the Biblical King Solomon.

 

“Like the Biblical King Solomon, our Adeboruwa is a man gifted with  so much wisdom and intelligence and  bequeathed with honor and prestige complementing the natural endowments that comes with the throne.

“He has consistently betrayed the witty and unfounded saying that a king is not honored in his homestead, one would wonder where else the honour will come from.”Ko da nile nje ko da nile, ewo ni ile ni adiye o ti niyii”.

“You came when there was an urgent need to strategically place IGBOGBO in the league of noble communities and in very few years of ascension, you have justified the claims of your many supporters and admirers.

 

“Happy 50th birthday to you Kabiyesi,may your reign continue to favour all and sundry”.

In its congratulatory message to the monarch titled, “On His Majesty’s Golden Jubilee”, THE IMPACT Newspaper wrote:

 

“We, at THE IMPACT, express our heartfelt respect, love, and gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo on the occasion of his 50th birthday.

 

“Everyday, we are inspired by the Majesty’s love and unending compassion for the people, and by the beautiful dignity with which he reminds us of our heritage and tradition.

 

“We are blessed with the reign of a true cultural Ambassador and Custodian, and on this auspicious celebration, we pray for His Majesty’s everlasting reign. Long may Adeboruwa reigns!!!!!”
