Babajimi Benson, would be going to the poll unopposed.

The party seems to have unanimously agreed that the performing lawmaker should  take a second shot at the much coveted seat.

The coast became clear for the young lawmaker after the two aspirants, who had earlier shown interest in the position, dropped their aspirations and pledged their supports for the incumbent.

One of the aspirants,Hon. Oyebola Ologijo, was reported to have stepped down for the young and performing federal lawmaker after the intervention of a chieftain of the party, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, who called the two frontline aspirants to a parley.

THE IMPACT further gathered that Asiwaju Basorun had intervened on the ground that the performing lawmaker deserves another term to represent the people of the division and implored Hon. Ologijo to allow him consolidate on his achievements.

He also admitted while speaking with THE IMPACT that the young lawmaker deserves another term because of his sterling performance.

The other aspirant, Mr Owolabi Anifowoshe who vied for the position against the incumbent in 2015 also withdrew from the race on the ground that the reality on ground does not favour any challenge against  Hon.Benson.

Incidentally, Mr Anifowoshe is also from Asiwaju Basorun’s political camp.
