First Ikorodu Division Youths Summit To Hold October 1

A segment of youths in Ikorodu division under the auspices of NotTooYoungToRun, Ikorodu division chapter, is planning to bring youths in the division together to brainstorm on issues relating to the youths.

 

The summit, which is themed, ‘Promoting Youth participation and Inclusiveness In Community Development and Governance’, is slated to hold at the Ikorodu Town hall on Monday, October 1, 2018.

 

According to the organizers, the aims of the summit are to create an opportunity for the physical youths interaction for at least 500 youths within the division and discuss matters relating to them and community development.

Other goals of the summit include creating avenue for career networking for the youths; raising youth enthusiasm and participation in 2019 general elections and encouraging more youths inclusion in community development and governance.

 

In a chat with Comrade Samson Bisiriyu, ACPA, MPA, Chairman, Planning Committee of the Summit, he stated that the focus of the summit would be to engage the youths on how they can develop smart businesses, networking and engaging in political activities among others.

 

“On summit day, we will dwell on how young people can build smart businesses, networking, agitate for youth inclusiveness, job opportunities and empowerment tools in addressing the challenges in the community.

 

“Furthermore, youths will also learn to look beyond politics to make it in life”, he added.
