A+ Disciples Organize PVC Rally To Celebrate One Year Anniversary

A+ Disciples, one of the groups championing the campaign for the re-election  of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, on Saturday, July 28, 2018, celebrated its one year anniversary with a rally in Igbogbo town to sensitise residents on the need to register and collect their Premanent Voters Card (PVC).

 

The group,  which was formed by the former Lagos State acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, kicked-off the rally at HOMAT Event Centre at Igbe junction, Igbogbo, around 8am as  hundreds of residents converged and  marched through Oba Omolaja Ogunlewe Road.

 

Joining Hon. Adebimpe to lead  hundreds of A+ members,All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful and residents of Igbogbo at the rally were the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Assembly, Hon. Babajimi Benson, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Saka Solaja, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Comrade Sesan Daini, Vice Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Titi Gboyega, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu LG, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, a Senatorial aspirant, Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, former Chairman and the State Chairman, A+ Disciples, Igbogbo/Beyeku LCDA, Hon. Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, Secretary to the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Barr. Ade Ayeni and all the APC chairmen in the six councils in Ikorodu division among others.

 

The rally, which was full of pomp and pageantry, had a stopover at the palace of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, during which Hon. Akinsola, chieftains and members of the A+ Disciples,  paid homage to the monarch and his chief and were addressed by High Chief Duduyemi Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo, on behalf of Oba Kasali.

The rally later moved through Adeboruwa road to Meri road and berthed at the A+ Disciples’ headquarters at Basorun junction in Igbogbo.

 

Hon. Akinsola, while speaking at the rally, stated that, “Election is fast approaching and we need to sensitize to the people to obtain their PVCs and vote for APC. People cannot vote without PVC and that’s why we are sensitizing our people to get their PVCs because it is their electoral right and power”.

 

The former Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly added, “We want to surpass the number of voters in the last general elections because our Governor has really done well in the area of Infrastructure, Housing, Roads, Health Care, Education, Tourism and many more.

 

“Governor Ambode has done effectively well in developing the 20 Local Governments and 37 LCDAs in Lagos State and that’s more reason we, as his Disciples, are backing him and sharing his vision. As you can see, the APC chairmen in the six Local Government and LCDAs in Ikorodu Division as well as  the Women Leaders, and others who believe and love Governor Ambode are here to support the great Governor.”

 

She thanked members of the group for keeping hope alive in the last twelve months and assured them of more dividends of democracy.

The former Commissioner also enjoined members of the group  to continue to propagate the ideals of the group and that of the All Progressives Party (APC).

 

Furthermore, she  commended Hon. Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, whose  birthday coincided with the rally, for the positive impact his administration is having on the council, while also wishing him a prosperous birthday.

Also, Oba Kasali, while adding his voice to the campaign for PVC registration and collection, urged residents of Igbogbo to ensure that they get their PVC for the forthcoming general elections.

 

Also speaking during the rally, the former Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly and a Senatorial Aspirant, Otunba Ganiu Abiru, stated that, “PVC is very essential for everybody to obtain. It’s a visa, a ticket and the only authority people have to elect the people of their choice.”

Speaking with our reporter, Comrade Daini stated that A+ Disciples and the entire people of Igbogbo are reaffirming their support for Gov Ambode.

He also appealed to the residents of the council to ensure that they get their PVC before the closure of the registration exercise in August.

He commended Hon. Adebimpe for convening a worthy rally to sensitize the people and gave kudos to Governor Ambode for his giant stride in Lagos.
