-Says constituency projects are means of facilitating FG’s projects for the benefits of Nigerians
It was yet another impactful representation by Hon. Babajimi Benson, member, Federal House of Representatives, for the people of Ikorodu division on Saturday, March 31, 2018, as the performing lawmaker commissioned two laudable constituency projects to mark his birthday celebration.
While an ICT Centre was commissioned at Ayangbure Primary School in Ikorodu Local Government to advance the knowledge base of the pupils, especially in computer technology, a block of 3-Classrooms was commissioned at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu in Ijede Local Council Development Area, both in Ikorodu division of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The ICT Centre was named, “Prince Abiodun Ogunleye ICT Centre” in honour of Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, an illustrious son of Ikorodu who was a former Lagos State Deputy Governor and also a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At the commissioning ceremony, the lawmaker, in his address, stated that constituency projects are means of facilitating federal government’s projects for the benefit of the citizenry.
“These projects, which would be of great benefits to the Ikorodu federal constituency and impact positively on the standard of our education, are facilitated through the much maligned constituency projects that Nigerians do not want to hear about”, Hon. Benson stated.
“If there are no constituency projects, how would I have been able to facilitate these projects for my people?” , he asked rhetorically.
“I used my capacity to facilitate these projects that are of immense benefits. I’m one of the lawmakers who have facilitated and executed more federal projects to his constituency through this means( Constituency projects).
“We shall continue to bring more projects that would empower our youths in Ikorodu division and make them stand up to compete favourably with their counterparts in any parts of the world”, Hon. Benson assured.
As a mark of honour to the former deputy governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Hon. Benson announced that the ICT Centre would be named after him for his impactful leadership style.
While commissioning the block of 3-classrooms in Ijede, Hon. Benson stated that the projects are usually executed by the necessary ministries once they are facilitated by him.
The former deputy governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, while speaking at the commissioning, said that the ICT centre is meant for the new generation and those yet unborn.
“This is a very laudable project that would impact on our children. What Hon. Benson has facilitated will be of great benefit to the pupils in Ikorodu division and also benefits the generation yet unborn.
“It will also serve as medium of information sharing and investigation for our youths in the division.
“I want to thank him for this initiative and appreciate him for delivery of services to the people of Ikorodu federal constituency.”
The commissioning of the ICT Centre was a dream come true to Lion Taiwo Oduloye, the Education Secretary of Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) in Ikorodu.
“The State Education Board has been on our neck in Ikorodu to provide an information centre like this because we are the only one yet to have it. As God will have it, Hon. Benson called to informed me that he has facilitated an ICT Centre for Ikorodu which will be cited in this premises (Ayangbure Primary School).
“This project will go a long way to benefit people in Ikorodu and enhance our capacity, especially in the area of accessing information and improving our education system”, he said.
