The socio-cultural group, IREP-Ikorodu Division Rebirth Foundation on Wednesday, October 19, 2017, released the logo for the inaugural Asa carnival in Ikorodu division.
Members of the group initiated by the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the Opomulero of Ikorodu kingdom, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade also visited Ikorodu Ferry Terminal, venue of the carnival where they posed with official t-shirts for the historic cultural display scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2017.
Part of the group’s aims and objectives were to serve as a mechanism to prosecute a rebirth of the cultural and tradition of Ikorodu that is fast going into oblivion; identifying and propagating the numerous tourist potentials of the ancient towns in Ikorodu division with a view to awakening consciousness to them; documenting and publishing the cultural, traditional and natural monuments and festival that could attract tourism to Ikorodu and seeking the attention of Government and securing the assistance and support of the Government and the Corporate Business Sector for the propagation and projection of outstanding monuments and traditional festivals among others.
