Imota Chairman Gets NYCN Commendations For Leadership in Training Sponsorship, Reaffirms Commitment

‎The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele (BSA), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment.

‎Hon. Benson Ayodele reiterated his administration’s commitment on Thursday, when the leadership and members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Imota LCDA Local Branch, that he sponsored to a 3 -Day Retreat Programme aimed at enhancing youth capacity and development paid him a courtesy call.

‎The initiative, organised by the NYCN Lagos East Senatorial District under the theme “The Call To Duty: Mending Links and Breaking Chains,” was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, and personal development tools to promote self-reliance and reduce unemployment across Lagos State.

‎Following the successful completion of the retreat, the leadership of the NYCN in Imota LCDA paid a courtesy visit to the Council Chairman to express their appreciation and present certificates received during the programme.

‎Speaking during the visit, Hon. BSA emphasised that his administration remains steadfast in investing in the youth, whom he described as critical stakeholders in the socio-economic development of the council area.

‎He reiterated his commitment to supporting more capacity-building programmes that will expose young people to modern training techniques, mentorship opportunities, and hands-on experiences in key areas such as digital skills, vocational training, and leadership development.

‎The Coordinator of NYCN in Imota LCDA, Comrade Oriyomi Modupe Adebogun, commended the Council Chairman for his unwavering support for youth development. He noted that the leadership retreat has strengthened the capacity of participants and fostered more responsive and effective leadership among young people.

‎According to him, the sponsorship of youths for such capacity-building initiatives will not only empower individuals but also contribute to the growth and stability of the community. He added that such efforts play a vital role in reducing social vices and promoting economic independence among youths.

‎One of the beneficiaries, Comrade Rofiat Kapo, also expressed gratitude to the chairman, describing the programme as a life-changing experience. She pledged to apply the knowledge gained to improve her livelihood and impact society positively.

‎In his remarks, the Supervisor for Youth and Sports in Imota LCDA, Hon. Olusoga Akinyemi, lauded the initiative and encouraged the beneficiaries to maximise the opportunity. He assured them of the council’s continued investment in youth-focused programmes to ensure sustainable development across Imota LCDA.

‎Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele assured that more impactful initiatives targeted at empowering youths and women would be introduced in the coming months, as part of efforts to build a more prosperous and inclusive community.
