A former House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last General Elections, Hon. Abdulkareem Olugbenga Shittu, has declared that he will be contesting for the sole House of Representatives seat in Ikorodu.
Shittu is aspiring for the Ikorodu Federal seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Shittu made the declaration during the week when our reporter engaged him on issues of politics and development after his visit to the secretariat of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), where he had gone to identify with the Coordinator for the Ikorodu Division, Comrade Japhet Odesanya and also pledged his support for the re – election of President Bola Tinubu.
“Inshallah, I will be contesting for the House of Representatives ticket this year. I can confirm that to you wholeheartedly,” he declared.
While commending the present occupant of the office, Rep. Babajimi Benson who has been lauded by many for his legislative competence for his performance, Shittu said that he is bringing new ways of doing things into the system.
“My message to the electorate in that regard is very simple. The present occupant of that office has done very well and he has given a very good account of himself, but I believe after spending three terms, it’s time for him to move on and it’s time to inject new blood, methodology, new ways of thinking, new way of doing things and new perspective into the system to the benefit of our division and I believe I am very poised to do that,” he said.
Hon Shittu quipped in conclusion,“I believe I am equipped to build on his achievements.”
