A young footballer, attacker and left winger, Onyema Francis Chukwumaobim with the Comfort Edge Football Club of Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos, has jetted out of Nigeria, for a trial at Qarabag FC in Azerbaijan where he will be proving himself worthy of securing a contract with a professional football club to continue his playing career.

Onyema, a promising and talented 18 year-old footballer, left the country a few days ago for a trial facilitated by his club management which has been grooming and producing raw football talents over the years.

Lawanson Oladapo Babatunde, a Director with Comfort Edge and Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS) trained manager, described Onyema as a dedicated young player who will take advantage of the available opportunity for him to excel.

“Onyema has always been a lovable kid from the first time I met him. He’s dedicated to his dreams, and always looking forward to his time to come and this is it. I pray to God to help him scale through as the beginning is always the most difficult of every task, as far as football is concerned.

“I believe in him and I pray he succeeds in this quest and becomes a better football player, surpassing the ones before him. He will get better, because he always strives for excellence. We, at Comfortedge football management – myself and my partner, Mr Ogunbanjo Olalekan Ahmed, with all the staff, wish him success.

“We can’t wait to share the good news to all the members of the crew, of his signing, soonest as the Lord liveth”, Lawanson spoke positively of the club’s expectations.
