Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, Senator representing Lagos East, Rep. “We give thanks to Him. We thank Him and we will continue to worship Him. Today is a unique day, although it’s a Friday, a jumat day which coincided with the Eid -ul -Fitr celebration. It’s a day we become new born; born again and we pray almighty Allah will continue to be with us; guide us and also those who usually come up to help us.

“What we have done today is just to honour those who gave us support when we needed it. We just called them and they answered us with millions of naira. These include distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru who is representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Hon. Babajimi Benson and Mr Yinka Ajenifuja, who I have never had any interaction with, but he has been very good to us and others too.

Sheikh Oshoala enjoined the Muslim faithful to remain steadfast after the 30 days fasting.

Also speaking at the commissioning, the Special Adviser to Senator Tokunbo Abiru on Constituency Matters, Dr. Saheed Ibikunle who represented the Senator, said that the contribution of his principal to the development of the praying ground is just one of his numerous contributions to Islam and humanity in general.

“The Distinguished Senator is just doing what he believes in to advance Islam and humanity in general, because he is a believer of Islam. He is not just doing this alone, he has also done several others to Christianity, which is what is expected of anyone who is a responsible and responsive representative of his people. He is interacting and engaging his constituents.

“You are either Muslim or Christian in Nigeria, and when you are campaigning, you are talking to people who belong to these various religions and we cannot but participate and be part of such celebration and activity. Therefore, the Senator sees this as his own responsibility to also interact and engage with his constituents.

“It’s no big deal for him because he’s done that for even Christian bodies like the CAN and by next week, we are having a lent service for all the Christian Associations of Nigeria (CAN), across the sixteen local governments in Lagos East, just like he has done with the Muslims across the sixteen local governments. If this is the way we can engage them, I think it’s just responsible for any representative to also be part of this,” Dr Ibikulnle said.
