The Executive Chairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele(BSA), has congratulated women in Imota on the occasion of 2016 International Women’s Day, and reinstated his administration’s commitment to women empowerment.
Hon. Benson Ayodele emphasised the importance of promoting and empowering women stressing his administration’s commitment to initiatives that encourage women’s active participation in governance and also supporting the girl-child.
The council chairman stated in a statement commemorating 2026 International Women’s Day:
”Today, I join the global community in celebrating all women in the Imota Local Council Development Area and across the world for their invaluable contributions to family life, community development, and nation-building on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

”International Women’s Day serves as an important reminder of the need to continually promote gender equality, empower women, and create opportunities that enable them to reach their full potential. Our administration remains committed to implementing policies and programmes that support women empowerment, encourage female participation in leadership, and promote equal opportunities for women and girls across the council area.
”Today, we commend the resilience, strength, and dedication of our women across Imota LCDA. The roles of women in nurturing families, driving economic activities, and contributing to the social and political growth of our community remain indispensable.
“Let us continue to be agents of positive change, community development, and unity. I assure you that the council will continue to prioritise initiatives that uplift and support women. Together, through our collective efforts, we will build a more inclusive and equitable society in Imota LCDA.
