The representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), has joined other notable individuals in congratulating muslim faithful on the commencement of the 2026 Ramadan fasting.
The Holy month kicked off on Wednesday, with muslims expected to fast for 30 days.
In a statement today, AMA described the period as one that has significant spiritual implications.
”Ramadan Kareem to My esteemed muslim constituents,

”I extend my warmest congratulations to you, as we observe the blessed month of Ramadan. Today marks the second day following the official sighting of the crescent moon, which heralded the commencement of this sacred month in accordance with Islamic tradition.
”Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds profound historical and spiritual significance. It was during this holy month that the Holy Qur’an was first revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
”The observance of fasting during Ramadan, is one of the five pillars of Islam, prescribed to strengthen faith, cultivate self-discipline, encourage compassion for the less privileged, and deepen one’s consciousness of Allah (SWT)”.

He also urged muslim faithful to adhere strictly to the principles of devotion, charity, forgiveness and peace among others.
”Beyond abstaining from food and drink from dawn to sunset, Ramadan is a period of intense devotion, prayers, charity, reflection, forgiveness, and moral renewal.
”It is a sacred season that reinforces unity within the Ummah and promotes peace, patience, and generosity in our communities.
”As you continue this spiritual exercise on this second day and throughout the month, may your fasting, supplications, and acts of kindness be accepted. May this Ramadan bring renewed strength, divine mercy, abundant blessings, and lasting harmony to your homes and our constituency at large.
”Ramadan Mubarak”.
