The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele(BSA), has assured security agencies operating within the council area of his administration’s readiness to complement their efforts in tackling security challenges and maintaining peace across the community.
Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele gave the assurance during the Security Training For All Security Personnel in Imota LCDA held at the Community Hall, Agudungbun, Imota, on Thursday. The training, hosted by the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), brought together heads and representatives of various security formations under the theme, “Synergizing for Effective Security Management.”
The Chairman noted that security remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of fear or instability. He reiterated his commitment to providing the necessary support and logistics required by security agencies to effectively discharge their duties.

He disclosed that the council has employed security night guards across the eight primary schools in Imota LCDA, repaired the patrol vehicles of the Imota Divisional Police Station and the Joint Task Force (JTF), and is planning a Security Summit to be chaired by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, CFR, the Ranodu of Imota, Olufoworesete II.
According to him, the council will continue to collaborate with all security outfits through intelligence sharing, provision of operational support, and strengthening of community policing initiatives. He said such partnerships are essential in preventing crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele urged the security operatives to remain vigilant, professional, and proactive in addressing emerging threats, adding that the council will not relent in its responsibility to create a secure environment for businesses and residents to thrive.

The chairman further emphasised the importance of synergy among security outfits, noting that effective coordination and communication are key to achieving lasting peace and order. He assured them that the council would continue to prioritise their welfare and operational needs.
In her remarks, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Imota LCDA, Mrs. A.A. Titilayo, commended the chairman for his support and proactive approach to security matters, pledging the outfits continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Imota LCDA.
Dignitaries at the event included the DPO of Imota Divisional Police Station, CSP Babatunde Oguniyi; Divisional Commander of Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Ikorodu Division, CCS Ibrahim Sanni; Zonal Coordinator of LNSC, November Zone, SNCO Farojoye Akinsolu; Commanding officer of LNSC, Imota Command, CS Adekunle Babatunde Adejo; the Vice Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. (Princess) Abisoye Omowunmi Jimoh; and Council Manager, Mr. Olusegun Akinyemi, among others.

Security agencies present at the training included the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Legion, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Oduduwa People’s Congress, Joint Task Force, Agbekoya, Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Task Force, Special Squad, and other relevant stakeholders.
