At Igbe-Laara, the chairman conducted an on -site assessment of the ongoing construction of Igbe -Laara Road with a delegation from Hitech Construction Company, following complaints from residents and requests for urgent intervention ahead of the rainy season.

The inspection also provided an opportunity to jointly evaluate a previously submitted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) proposal by the LCDA, concerning the need for comprehensive drainage intervention in the area in particular.

He confirmed that the council has commenced steps to provide palliative support on the main road to improve accessibility and ease transportation challenges. The intervention, he noted, extends beyond drainage improvements and is designed to enhance overall road usability and reduce hardship for commuters.

While addressing residents, Aroyewun urged property owners to clear grasses, sand, and debris from their frontages to prevent blockage of drainage channels. He also cautioned against the indiscriminate disposal of waste along roadsides, especially during rainfall, stressing that such practices exacerbate flooding and accelerate road deterioration.

He reiterated that sustainable development requires a partnership between government and the community, calling on residents to remain cooperative and civic-minded as the administration continues to address infrastructural challenges across the LCDA.

Omo’ba Aroyewun further reassured stakeholders that his office remains accessible to the public, encouraging residents to continue bringing forward their concerns and constructive suggestions.
