The Office of Rural Development, Lagos State Government, has supplied brand new transformers to four rural communities across the state as part of the ongoing electrification initiative.
The gesture was extended to Progressive CDA, Egan in Igando-Ikotun LCDA; United Enclave CDA, Selewu in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA; Ajayi-Oronti Community, Agbele in Ikorodu Central, and Oluja CDA, Lasuwon in Ikorodu North LCDA.
Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, announced the delivering of the four new transformers early on Monday.

“Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has continued to demonstrate commitment to grassroots development through his ongoing Rural Electrification Initiative, delivering brand-new transformers to communities across Lagos State.
“On Sunday, 8th February 2026, Progressive CDA, Egan in Igando-Ikotun LCDA, joined the growing list of beneficiary communities, as a new transformer was presented through the Office of Rural Development.
“Shortly after, United Enclave CDA, Selewu in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, also received its own brand-new transformer from the Lagos State Government, further strengthening access to reliable electricity at the community level.

“The initiative then moved to Ajayi-Oronti Community, Agbele in Ikorodu Central, where a large crowd gathered in joy and excitement to receive their transformer, marking a significant milestone for the community.
“Similarly, Oluja CDA, Lasuwon in Ikorodu North LCDA, also benefitted from the electrification drive, rounding off a day of impactful grassroots interventions”, Dr. Agbaje said.
Across all beneficiary communities, residents expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for deploying his THEMES+ Agenda to deliver the true dividends of democracy directly to the grassroots.
